To clarify - in "Lights" and "Regal", you can turn the lights on and off as much as you like as you make your way through the maze - but all the lights in the room must be ON before you hit the Quilles on your last move.
Yep, in Regal mode all the lights need to be ON before you hit the Quilles.

Detailed Game Rules (recommended)
Quille is a maze game with a twist - the entire maze is made out of furniture! But just getting to the end of the maze is not how you win - in fact, there are many different ways to play and win.
Quille is also a “homebrew DLC” puzzle game, Professor-Layton-style. It uses the furniture placement mechanics of the 3DS game "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" to create the playing board, and the online sharing mechanic of the Dream Suite (a building within the game that lets you visit other people’s towns) to allow players to try out the puzzle at their leisure. This online feature also allows me to regularly provide new puzzles as I create them. This blog will be where I announce new puzzles and other news.

< How do I play it? >
First and foremost, you need a copy of Animal Crossing: New Leaf for the 3DS, and within that game you need to have earned the Dream Suite. Instructions for getting the Dream Suite are here.
Once you’re in the Dream World of Quille (Dream Address 7800-2606-8331), simply enter the Mayor’s house to find the puzzle room on the ground floor!
< What are the rules? >
Put simply, you navigate a maze by climbing over and interacting with furniture items, to reach the Quilles (bowling pins) at the end - using the least amount of moves possible. However, there are specific rules to how you move through the maze, as well as increasingly challenging game types that will test your puzzle-solving mettle.
< What can I win? >
If you can finish a room in the set minimum amount of moves, on the most difficult game type (Regal), your New Leaf character’s name will be added to the “Hall of Fame” for that room!
If you manage to finish the room in less than the minimum number of moves that I’ve specified (hey, it’s possible I missed something!), you gain a spot in the “Smartypants Hall of Fame”, AND you may rename the room itself (as long as it’s not offensive).
< Can I make my own puzzles? >
Yes! Please do. It doesn’t cost very much to buy the necessary parts to build a Quille room, and you can set them up in your museum. Hosting your puzzles through the Dream Suite IS quite expensive though, since you must upgrade the rooms of your house to 8x8.
Use this handy template to help you design rooms (this template is also useful for solving existing rooms)!
< How often will new puzzles be released? >
Once a week, to start with. Currently I can only fit one puzzle room in my house, but as my house is upgraded I can host more at once. Old puzzles are retired to the museum, where they can be played by visiting 3DS friends (send an ask if you want to visit the town of Quille and its museum!).
If you find it in your heart to donate some bells, I can use the money to renovate my house more speedily - more rooms means that I can host more puzzles at once before retiring them to the museum. Send me an ask with your friend code if you’d like to donate!
You can also send an ask if you have any feedback, or suggestions for improving the game.
So get cracking! The first room is already up -
Good luck, and have fun!
